Notice of Race
Evergreen Cup / Western Great Lakes District Championships

October 1-2, 2011, Lake Minnetonka, MN

Rules:  This event will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2009-2012), the prescriptions of U.S. Sailing, this Notice of Race, and the rules of the J22 class, except as modified by the Sailing Instructions.  The same crew and same three sails must be used throughout the regatta, unless approval is granted by the organizing authority.  Yachts may be removed from the water and/or drysailed at will.  The Sailing Instructions will be distributed at registration. 

Eligibility:  J/22 Class yachts in compliance with class rules will be scored.  US Sailing and J-22 class membership is strongly encouraged, but not required.   

Venue:  Lake Minnetonka, MN, either on the Main Lake or in Wayzata Bay.

Fees:  $100; Fleet 1 dues of $50 are also required for local boats.  Entry fee is waived for off-lake boats.  Housing is available upon request.  All registration fees are payable prior to 10/1/2011, 0900.  Entry fee includes Saturday evening social and Sunday lunch.

Racing and Scoring:  Six races are planned, with one constituting a series.  The Low-Point Scoring System, Appendix A4.1 of the RRS, will apply.  All completed races will count toward a yacht’s final score.

Trophies:  Awarded to the top 3 finishers, with other awards given at discretion of the Race Committee.

Inspection & Measurements:  All participants are subject to inspection and measurement at any time during the regatta in order to confirm compliance with the prescribed class rules concerning construction and measurements, safety rules when racing, crew prohibition and restrictions when racing.  Class royalty tags must be present on all sails.  All crew will be weighed at registration and prior to being scored.
